06.21.03 It's officially the first day of summer....although it doesn't feel like it at all. The weather's been cold, gloomy, and drizzly for the past week. It's strange. Today, Aric, Ashlyn, and I ventured into Westminster for lunch at Lee's Sandwiches. Being in Westminster made me feel oddly at-home (as it's very similar to parts of San Jose). After lunch we went to the 99¢ Only Store across the way. It
never ceases to amaze me how certain items can be sold for less than
a dollar when it's being sold for 2-5 times the amount elsewhere. We
picked out some books, markers, and a doodling pad for Ashlyn...I got
some THANK YOU cards, N*SYNC fridge magnets (hehe), waxed paper, air
fresheners, and juice...and Aric got some WD-40, Scotch tape refills,
dental floss, glass wipes, and car cleaning accessories. It was such
a steal! Ashlyn wanted to ride one of those coin-operated rides outside. We put her on a horse, and the minute it started moving, she got all freaked out. She didn't cry or anything, but you could totally see it in her eyes. She sat frozen and stiff throughout the entire ride. =P She wanted to ride the Batmobile next, and wasn't nearly so terrified. hehehe Afterwards, Aric and I went to a market in Garden Grove for groceries, then went home. Tonight
was relaxing. Aric and I made dinner at home, watched TV, and played
with Ashlyn.
