HAPPY
BIRTHDAY to TJ's daughter, Brenna!
Sarah
and Parkin got in around 2:30am. We stayed up for another hour talking
before finally going to bed. Ashlyn and I got up around 9:30am this
morning because my bro-in-law, Patrick, came over to pick up something.
Sarah and Parkin got up shortly after and we all hung around in our
pajamas most of the morning watching cartoons. hehehe
We
grabbed lunch at A&J's after Aric got home from school, then headed
up to LA's
Fashion District to hunt for some fabric. Sarah's having all her
bridesmaids' dresses custom made and had a difficult time finding
fabric in the colors, quality, and quantity that she wanted.
Since neither of us have ventured into the Garment District, we didn't
know what to expect.
It was blocks and blocks of shops selling fabric and material. We
were overjoyed and overwhelmed. Sarah and I zipped in and out of shops
quickly since we had much ground to cover and very little time. We
finally found a store that had the perfect fabric for only 99 cents
a yard! Of course, being "chinese" , I haggled on the price.
We walked out paying less than 99 cents a yard...AND, the guy waived
the sales tax too! AWWWW YEAH! hehehehe
The second shop we purchased from didn't offer us the same low price...but
I was able to talk the guy down to a decent price. Sarah didn't have
the patience to bargain with the guy (since he was being a stubborn
and slimy)...but her eagerness to leave forced the guy to succumb
and sell it to us for our asking price. Good job, Sarah!
=P hehehehe With
that task done, Sarah was able to breathe a sigh of relief.
Sarah,
Parkin, Aric, Ashlyn, and I met with Winnie
for dinner in the Rowland Heights area.
We met up at this Korean BBQ place. I was really excited to meet Winnie
since we've been corresponding to one another for well over a year
now. Winnie is every bit as sweet, warm, and generous as I expected
(and then some). I felt completely comfortable....as if I had known
her for years. We enjoyed a great meal over an evening of great conversation.
Thanks, Winnie!
Ashlyn was being an absolute terror tonight! She was unusually fussy
at dinner. Aric (giving me a chance to enjoy dinner and our company)
tried to appease her, but in the end, it required both of us to settle
her down a bit. I was disappointed for not giving Winnie, and the
rest of the table, the attention and courtesy they all deserved, AND
for cutting everyone's evening short. *sowie!* =(
After
dinner, Sarah, Parkin, Aric, and Ashlyn went home. After Aric and
I tucked Ashlyn into bed, we popped in "LOTR: The Two Towers"
on DVD. I think we watched half of the movie before tuning into SNL
(with Jennifer Gardner). *YAWN!*
Whatta long day! G'Nite!
