Anne and Ashlyn

Happy Friday! Today was somewhat eventful and somewhat not....for the first half of the day, I got in a couple of loads of laundry, vacuumed, cleaned up a bit, prepared for our trip, and friends came by to visit. Eleanor and William stopped by for a short visit and to drop some things off for Ashlyn. They couldn't stay very long though, and Anne came over to hang out. Anne, Ashlyn, and I went to the market to pick up some things then went to Tapioca Express for our usual boba tea, fried calamari rings, and spicy chicken bits. Both Anne and I were much too hungry to share, so we each got our own snacks. I kinda wished I hadn't since I couldn't finish them....my eyes always seem to be bigger than my stomach.=P
It was fun hanging out with Anne again. We always spend an afternoon talking about anything and everything. Anyhow, after she left, the second half of the day/evening was dead quiet. Aric just got done taking his final on Wednesday, but has a school project due tomorrow. He spent the entire evening working on it with his group....so it was just me and Ashlyn at home the whole night. While Ashlyn napped, I talked to some friends on the phone, finally cleared my inbox, and responded to all but one email. Wil, Sarah, and Cin are so cute...they all sent pictures of purses and bags they want me to scout for in China. The pictures are a great help since I don't trust myself in picking out something nice. =P
I didn't watch any TV tonight. *shocking!* hehehehe

Speaking of China...the trip is starting to sink in now, and I'm feeling a bit...uh, apprehensive. I mean, I'm really excited to go, but I'm dreading the long flight. I don't really know how it's going to be with Ashlyn. She's normally delightful on the plane...but we're talking one hour flights. This is...what, 14-15 hours?! Aside from that, I also worry about the possibilities of horrible unmentionables that may occur. *shivers* I'll try to stay optimistic, but planes dropping from the sky seems to be a growing trend these days. *UGH!* I gotta get these dark morbid thoughts out of my head. Bad! =(

Ashlyn must have wondered where "daddy" was tonight because she refused to go to bed. She kept kicking off her blankets, rolling around, and playing....even though it was WAY past her bedtime. She finally succumbed to sleep around 1am. *sigh* I'm pretty tired too, but I'm debating whether or not I should stay up till Aric comes home. Hmmmmmm....that might not be for a whiles. =/ *YAWN!* Have a good weekend!
