HAPPY BIRTHDAY to BRIAN!
(Ashlyn with Uncle Brian)
Wishing you a great 30th!
Also
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Rose Lee!
This
morning Aric and Ashlyn got up around 9am. Aric brought the baby into
bed, and we played for a bit. I closed my eyes to snooze, and the next
thing I knew, it was 2pm! Aric had left for school and Ashlyn was sleeping
beside me. DAMN!...talk about wasting the day away. It's kind of cute
how Ashlyn will fall asleep again if she sees that my eyes are closed.
She never cries or fusses. But it's also kinda scary. =P
We hung out at home and watched Courage the Cowardly Dog Marathon on
Cartoon Network. It's a cartoon that I enjoy, but I don't think it's
necessarily good for kids to watch. It's a bit bizarre.
Tonight Aric, Ashlyn, and I stayed in. For dinner, Aric grilled steaks
on the BBQ, and I prepared steamed artichokes, fried mushroom caps,
and french fries. We're putting mileage on our deep fryer. It was yummy!
We watched "Ice Age" on VCD. That is such a cute movie! Because
we haven't gone to see a movie in the theaters in a while, Aric downloads
most of the new movies on his computer, then burns them on VCD. Next
is "Panic Room"....we'll probably watch that later this week.
After the movie, we were sitting around with the TV on, and we heard
the sound of screeching tires. Both Aric and I looked at eachother...anticipating
the sound of a crash. Sure enough, it soon followed. It was freaky,
considering we live in such a quiet neighborhood. Aric went out to investigate,
and came back moments later to tell me to call 911. A car hit a lamp
post on the main street. I dialed 911, and the dispatcher already knew
what I was calling about. I guess another neighbor called it in. Aric,
Ashlyn, and I went out and looked beyond our gated community to see
a wrecked old skool BMW halfway on the sidewalk and mangled with the
now tilted lamp post. I had chills. It's pretty sick how, as much as
I hate seeing the sight of an accident, I can't help but look. It's
been hours now, but we can still hear activity going on outside. *sigh*
I hope whoever was in the car is okay. They were probably drunk. =/
