HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Steve Chan!

This morning I got up really early and went to help out at the nursery at Ed and Sue's church. Yeah, what's wrong with me???...like taking care of my own baby isn't enough?!
Since I bitch about not having much of a social life here, I thought I should do something about it. I'm sure sitting here complaining all the time is really unbecoming of me. hehehe
This way I'm able to get out of the house and do something different, meet new people, and do two things that I enjoy most - volunteer work and playing with kids. Actually, I've been meaning to help out for a while but never really put it into action...and after two days of being preoccupied with self pity, I decided to do it. During the first service, I watched the nursery kids...babies about the same age as Ashlyn. During second service, I watched the toddlers. Toddlers are so adorable!...the stage where they can walk, but not yet talk. I had one kid in particular that clung to me the entire time, and wouldn't let me put him down. *awww!* I met a lot of nice people today, and it felt good to get out and do something for myself. I skipped third service so I could rush home before Ashlyn got up. Sure enough, when I got home, she was still sound asleep.
Aric: "So...how was it?"
Peg: "It was great! I had a great time and the babies are so cute!"
Aric: "That's cool."
Peg: "Yeah, but the only thing I didn't enjoy was that everyone kept urging me to attend the sermon."

I'm not interested in joining the church. I just want to help out there. Don't get me wrong...I have faith, I believe in god...I'm just not very religious. My family is Buddhist, which is more of a philosphy of life and being harmonious or whatever (...as you can tell, religion is very lax in my family). But if I couldn't get myself to join my mom in Tao lectures, why the heck would I start attending Christian service? Hopefully that won't make me the total outcast at the nursery. =/ Since I notice most Christians are hardcore.

Aric, Ashlyn, and I joined Ed, Sue, and a bunch church friends for lunch. By the time we got home, I was so tired! The day feels so long when you're up at the crackacracka dawn! After my nap, Aric and I watched the other DVDs we rented - "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and "O".
